An extension to your own veterinary practice
Continuous developments and investment here at Oakhill enable us to meet demands for a first-class referral service in the north west. Whether you require an MRI scan only, with specialist interpretation, or advanced lameness diagnosis and surgery, we are here to assist.
Communication between you – the referring vet – and us is of utmost importance. Regular contact will be maintained throughout the process by our specialists, Rosie or Guy.
We ensure that referral cases are promptly returned to your care, with the guarantee that no additional services are provided for your clients.
A note to clients: For professional reasons, and in the best interests of your horse, pony or donkey we are only able to accept your horse if it has been referred by your veterinary surgeon. Once you have agreed with your vet that you wish to attend Oakhill Equine Vets as a referral, the referring vet will contact the practice to make arrangements for us to contact you and make an appointment.

A fully equipped surgical suite and inpatient facilities, together with our 40m x 20m arena and firm trot up and lunging areas, allows thorough investigation of poor performance cases.
Ethical service
Oakhill will only carry out the work that the horse has been referred in for. Following discharge from the clinic, complete management and treatment of the case will be returned to you.

However, due to availability we are unable to accommodate leaving your trailer or horsebox on site unless in exceptional circumstances.
